Receiving SG of BIMSTEC: MOALI UM received SG of BIMSTEC

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung met with Mr. Indra Mani Pandey, Secretary-General of BIMSTEC, on the morning of June 23 at the Union Minister's reception hall in Office No. 15, Nay Pyi Taw.

During the meeting, discussions were held openly and cordially on matters including Myanmar's ongoing role and responsibilities as the lead country in the agriculture and food security sector under BIMSTEC cooperation, the need to place greater emphasis on food security among BIMSTEC member states and accelerate regional collaborative efforts, the implementation of already formulated work programs for BIMSTEC agricultural and livestock cooperation, the systematic monitoring of progress on work processes, the strengthening of information and technology exchange among member states, and issues related to joint research cooperation, technology exchange, technology transfer, capacity building, trade, and investment, it’s reported.
