






Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe, together with other concerned officials attended the opening ceremony of school family day for 2024-2025 fiscal year at No. 1 Basic Education High School (ZeyaThiri) in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.
It was inaugurated with the ceremonial ribbon cut by the Union Minister, Deputy Minister Dr. Moe Zaw Htun and Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Myint Soe. The event continued its second part in the school's stadium with the song performance by the students from No. 6 Basic Education High School.
At the ceremony, the Union Minister highlighted the importance of basic education in developing quality human resources. He emphasized that the new curriculum is designed to enhance not only students' knowledge and skills but also their problem-solving abilities, cultural and moral values, creativity and critical thinking. This comprehensive approach prepares students to be well-rounded citizens, equipped with the skills necessary to thrive in the 21st century, secure employment and succeed across various fields of society.
He stated that regular capacity development training, workshops and refresher programs are held to upskill teachers. And, teachers are also encouraged to continually improve their skills and teaching methods. He expressed his hope that in the coming academic years, parents, teachers and administrators will offer comprehensive support for nurturing talented, well-rounded future generations.
Following the Union Minister's speech, prizes were awarded to the winners of the English Language Skills and Mathematics Skills competitions, followed by the song and dance performances of students from No.7, No.11, No.2 and No. 1 Basic Education High Schools of Zabuthiri, Pyinmanna Zeyathiri Townships.
Next, awards were presented to the winners of various competitions, including the World Teachers' Day essay and poem competitions, National ICT Awards-2024, Myanmar Women's Day essay competitions, Civil Service Academy course and Legal Awareness Training (TOT) course.
Subsequently, the Union Minister and party toured the exhibitions on science teaching aids, new curriculum materials, quiz competitions and entrepreneurship.
