Empowering Physicians: 20th Myanmar Internal Medicine Conference

Organized by Myanmar Medicine Association, the 20th Myanmar Internal Medicine Conference was held in Yangon on Thursday, with the attendance of Union Minister for Health Prof Dr. Thet Khaing Win.

The conference was conducted under the theme “Empowering Physicians for Tomorrow’s Challenges”.

In his opening remarks, the Union Minister expressed his appreciation for the strenuous efforts of the association. He encouraged on acceleration of cooperative measures with the international organizations, enabling access to modern treatment and diagnostic technology, practicing telemedicine, electronic health record, AI Technology and evidence based medicine to advance health care service provision system.

The Union Minister also underscored the Ministry’s efforts to ensure high-quality and accessible healthcare for the public, upgrade hospitals, and strengthen the development of medical human resources. He further expressed that the conference would provide an enriching experience for the new generations, contributing to the sustainable development of Myanmar’s medical sector.

Next, Chairman of Myanmar Medicine Association Prof Dr. Aye Aye Chit delivered a welcome speech. The conference is scheduled to be held from 26th to 27th February.

During the event, international medical experts will collaborate with their counterparts from Myanmar to exchange medical knowledge, clinical expertise, and advanced treatment practices. Moreover, a total of 19 papers will be read out during the conference, and 635 local and international medical professionals are participating in the conference.
