A ceremony was held on Thursday at the Town Hall in Loikaw to distribute basic food items—rice and cooking oil—to 132 basic staff members of the Kayah State Development Committee, as well as 48 grass cutters to 23 wards across Loikaw Town, with Kayah State Chief Minister U Ang Maw in attendance.

First, the Chief Minister delivered opening remarks, emphasizing that the role of basic staff is crucial in implementing national development projects. He highlighted that the basic staff of the Development Committee faithfully fulfill their duties through all weather conditions to keep towns clean, pleasant, and aligned with urban standards, while ensuring convenience in the daily lives of the public.

He encouraged them to work with dedication under the guidance of the State Government to further streamline public life and transform Loikaw into a Green City, Clean City, and Smart City worthy of its status as the state capital.

Afterward, the basic foodstuffs (rice and oil) and grass cutters were handed over to representatives who accepted them on behalf of the recipients. Following the distribution, a staff member and a ward administrator expressed their gratitude in closing remarks.
