






The basic rural infrastructures like road/bridge, water and electricity access, and buildings for social services including education, health and sports grounds will be developed in three villages where East Asia Poverty Reduction Cooperation Pilot Project to be implemented.
Throughout the country, three villages from Ayeyarwaddy delta region, tropical zone and high land areas were selected for this pilot project and rural development tasks are going to be carried out.
Director, Department of Rural Development (Shan State), Maung Maung Win said "We are here about to implement a pilot project in three villages nationwide; one from Ayeyarwaddy Delta Region, one from Mandalay region and another one from Shan State (South). Through this project, social service buildings like community centers, administration offices, basic infrastructures like education, health and sports. It includes vocational jobs development so that funds to get for Village Development Projects like Evergreen. Also, the sectors of agriculture, livestock and SMEs will be developed. "
Supporting village industry such as planting, breeding, undertaking community environment management and providing technical assistance for rural development and capacity buildings will be included.
Director, Department of Rural Development (Shan State), Maung Maung Win said "Capacity building and vocational trainings will be given to the villagers by the relevant departments. We are going to provide techniques of tailoring, carpentry work, repairing motorcycle, production of foods, consumer goods and various products. Then, we’ll support investments to them to create businesses plus market penetration. Likewise, environment preservations tasks and waste management systems will be included. "
East Asia Poverty Reduction Cooperation Pilot Project is being implemented in collaboration with the international community and now it’s the period of selecting villages. This three-year project is started to be implemented in this year of 2022.
