




In order to supply drinking water to people in Dala Township, 3.2 million gallons water storage tank and pump station is being constructed in Yangon City Water Supply Project Zone-10on Dala-Twante motor road.
As the first phase, bore-pile drilling is being undertaken. The Engineering Department (Water and Sanitation) of Yangon City Development Committee is implementing water supply project by diving into 10 zones and Dala Township includes in Zone-10.
Htin Lin Kha, Deputy Director, Engineering Dept. (Water and Sanitation-YCDC) said "Bore pile drillings are undertaken within this budget year. The project period is 2-year. During the rainy season, we will undertake bore piling and in the coming year, we will construct water storage tank walls and water pump station. "
Dala Township is constituted with 24 wards and there are 4,625 houses of 23,125 population and the residents are using 1 million gallons of water per day. The township faces scarcity of drinking water yearly.
Htin Lin Kha, Deputy Director, Engineering Dept. (Water and Sanitation-YCDC) said "It is the first project of YCDC, implementing zoning system. Depending on getting water, we will supply water to people in Dala Township. According to the water distribution system in Yangon, water will be distributed to the entire Yangon city by constructing service reservoirs with ring system. "
According to the development, it is estimated that water will be required more in the future. Yangon City Development Committee is implementing water supply tasks by dividing into ten zones. Zones 7 and 8 are Lagoon Pyin water supply project for four Dagon Townships. Water is supplied to other townships with current water supply system.
