New intake of CVT Myanmar for 2020-2021 academic year starts in the first week of May, officials from CVT Myanmar said on Saturday.
The new intake offers Cabinet Maker, Electrician, Hotel and Gastronomy, Business Administrator and Metal Worker courses. Trainees who complete the 3-year course and pass the final examination will be certified as Junior Professionals recognized by related professional associations from Switzerland and Myanmar. Those aged 17 and above with the high school level education are eligible to join the training courses. According to the CVT Myanmar’s 5-year strategy, effective intensive courses and short training courses will be launched from the year of 2020.
Chief Executive Officer, CVT Myanmar, Khin Myat Sandar said “The reason why the youths should join the CVT Myanmar in Yangon is that our school offers many kinds of vocational training courses which can be applied in workplace. The vocational education is really beneficial for everyone and the training fee is very reasonable as our organization is an INGO. So, I would like to urge the youths to join our school for their future.”
Center for Vocational Training (CVT) Myanmar was established in 2002 and the dual form of apprenticeship vocational education is offered in collaboration with over 300 training companies. CVT is recognized as Vocational Skills Training Center by Myanmar’s Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population as well as a National Skills Assessment Center by National Skills Standard Authority.
Trainee, Pyae Phyo Kyaw said “I joined the electrician class which is a special class four days a week. The training covers many chapters starting from basic course. I hope, I will get many job opportunities upon completion of the training.”
Trainee, Ei Nitar said “The course I’m taking is Hotel & Gastronomy and it is really useful at the workplace. I joined this training center because I wanted to improve my competency as a hotel profession. We had to sit entrance tests. Teachers and school facilities are really good.”
CVT Myanmar also offers Education for Youth (E4Y) program which creates the pathway to help the children get further education in a professional field. The 4-year program covers literacy & communicative skills, Vocational skills and Social & Environmental skills – the children can continue their study at CVT to have decent job opportunities.
