


Plans are underway to teach with ethnic language at about 50 Basic Education Schools in Myawaddy Township of Kayin State.
Aiming to be ready for the teachers in teaching the new curriculum, a TOT Training for Kayin Literature New Curriculum is being conducted for the teachers.
Chairperson, Kayin State Ethnic Literature Teaching Organizing Committee, Nan Myint Tin said “To be ready for those teachers to teach back in the classes, this training is being conducted. Teachers have some difficulties like they are not adapt with the new curriculum and teaching approach. That’s why, we conduct this training for the to be proficient in the new curriculum, which has been amended in line with international standards.”
The new curriculum was published in 25 different ethnic languages for the coming academic year.
Chairperson, Kayin State Ethnic Literature Teaching Organizing Committee, Nan Myint Tin said “In the new curriculum, there includes a lot of new vocabs and even how to start the introduction. We are going to explain the teachers how to handle the new curriculum and how to teach the lessons to the students.”
Last year in Myawaddy Township, a total of 40 schools were taught with ethnic languages, 10 schools with Pwo Kayin language, 28 with S’ghaw Kayin Language and 2 with Shan language respectively.
