








The ceremony for International Women's Day, which falls on March 8, 2026, was held at the State Hall in Loikaw. The event was attended by the State Chief Minister U Sein Oo, the Regional Military Operations Commander, the State Chief Justice, State Government ministers, departmental officials, award-winning outstanding women, and invited guests.
The ceremony began with a performance of the song "Auspicious Day" by a student from Basic Education High School No. (1).
Following this, the State Chief Minister U Sein Oo delivered the opening address. He then provided cash assistance for the International Women's Day ceremony and subsequently awarded prizes to the women who had achieved various excellence awards.
Afterwards, the Commander, the State Chief Justice, and State Government ministers presented prizes respectively to the women who had received excellence awards. An official from the Social Welfare Department then provided vocational training stipends, sponsored by the Youth Affairs Department, to the respective representatives.
Attendees then watched a video clip commemorating International Women's Day.
The ceremony continued with dance performances set to songs by troupes from the Loikaw Preschool and the Loikaw Nurse and Midwife Training School. The Secretary of the State Government presented commendation cash awards to the performing dance troupes.
Finally, the State Chief Minister and officials cordially met and greeted the ceremony attendees and toured the exhibition galleries set up for International Women's Day, it’s reported.
