Honoring Medalists Athletes: MOC Chairman delivered a speech of honor

Myanmar sepak takraw athletes who won gold, silver and bronze medals at the ISTAF Sepaktakraw World Cup 2025 in India were honored at the Multi-purpose Hall of the Sports Training Camp (Gold Camp) in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday morning.

At the ceremony, Myanmar Olympic Committee Chairman and Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Hotels and Tourism Jeng Phang Naw Taung delivered a congratulatory speech, noting that international victories enhance national prestige and help raise the country’s sports standards.

He highlighted that since the establishment of the Myanmar Sepak Takraw Federation in 1991, Myanmar has won numerous medals at world, Asian and regional competitions, including the Southeast Asian Games. The Union Minister also commended federation officials, coaches and athletes for their efforts and urged them to continue striving for further success in upcoming international competitions, including the Asian Games and World Games.

Then, Executive Director of the Myanmar Sepak Takraw Federation U Min Min Htike, presented a report on the team’s preparations, experience and performance. Later, cash prizes were presented to the Gold, silver and bronze medalists, along with team managers and coaches.

The ISTAF Sepaktakraw World Cup 2025 held in India featured teams from about 20 countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, China, Chinese Taipei and Italy. Myanmar won one gold, two silver and one bronze medal and a total of 144 million kyats was awarded to the Myanmar sepak takraw team for their achievements, it’s learnt.
