











The Peace Forum 2025 – "Towards a new nation of peace and prosperity through the integration of peace, elections and development” assessment and discussion was held at the Mingalarthiri Hotel Ballroom in Nay Pyi Taw on June 25.
First, Member of the State Administration Council, Union Minister for Border Affairs, and Chairman of National Solidarity and Peace Negotiation Committee, Lt-Gen. Yar Pyae, delivered the opening remarks. He urged all citizens to understand the country's current situation and to participate actively in nation-building. He emphasized the need for citizens to resolve challenges through mutual consultation and to collaboratively implement what is appropriate and necessary.
He stressed working together on shared views and resolving disagreements through negotiation. He also called for collective identification of the challenges and threats facing the nation to address them effectively. He concluded by urging everyone to dedicate their utmost effort and wisdom, with genuine goodwill, prioritizing the interests of the Union and its indigenous people above their own desires and interests.
Next, National Solidarity and Peace Negotiation Committee Secretary o Lt-Gen. Min Naing, explained the objectives and programs of the Peace Forum 2025. Following this, foreign expert guests, including Mr. Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Ambassador (Retired) Mr. Jaideep Mazumdar from India, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (Retired) Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeo from Thailand and Professor Aleksandr Gelyevich Dugin from Russia, delivered speeches on peace. Subsequently, eight foreign expert guests led discussions on topics such as "Opportunities for Post-Election Peacebuilding" and "Processes to Handle Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Disaster Recovery." Various attending representatives then posed questions and offered suggestions, which the discussion leaders clarified and elaborated upon.
The positive views and recommendations obtained from the Peace Forum will be used to understand and continue to strive for and implement what is necessary for peace, elections, and the economic development of the country, it’s learnt.
