







The Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing graced the ceremony to commission war vessels into services for Tatmadaw (Navy) on the occasion of the 77th Anniversary of the Tatmadaw(Navy) to celebrate the Navy's contributions to the nation’s maritime interests and the protection of the Myanmar Maritime Special Economic Zone taken place at No 3 Naval Jetty in Yangon on 24th December.
The commander of Naval Dockyard Command handed over documents related to warships to the commander of the Naval Fleet. The Commander-in-Chief (Navy) presented scale models of war vessels and the emblem to mark war vessels commissioned to the Senior General. Following this, declaring the entry of naval vessels into service by Commander-in-Chief (Navy), raising the national flag, Navy flag and the flag of commissioning into service, striking bell 8 times were performed according to the military procedures of Commissioning into service.
After that, the Chairman of the State Administration Council, the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and officials toured the 2 63-meter long Anti-Submarine warships which are the vessels commissioned into service, and were briefed by the responsible personnel. Later, the Senior General and party took a commemorative photo with the invited guests.
The Senior General from warship Mottama took a salute of the Guard of Honour and inspected it. Meanwhile, war vessels Yan Taing Aung and Yan Gyi Aung conducted a 21-shot salute. The frigates included frigate "Aung Zeya,""Kyan Sit Thar," "Sin Phyu Shin,", one corvette “Tapin Shwe Htee” , offshore patrol craft “Inn Lay” and Anti- Submarine vessel "Yan Ye Aung, fast patrol crafts and fast attack crafts in single line formation and line abreast formation saluted the Senior General.
The Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services was then presented with a commemorative shell fired in the initial volley as a gift by the Commander In Chief (Navy). Following this, the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Servicespresented commemorative plaques, certificates of honor, cash of honor, and gifts to the officials and personnel who participated in the construction of naval ships and the respective officials accepted.
In his speech of honor, the Chairman of the State Administration Council, the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, highlighted that this day marked a significant day for the military, the nation, and the Navy, as the 135-meter frigate was successfully titled and launched into the water and the two 63-meter Anti-submarine vessels were commissioned into the service.
He stated that this was a day of prosperity for the country, the Tatmadaw, and the Navy. The 135-meter frigate is equipped with a combination of diesel or gas turbine propulsion (CODOG), which allows it to be used flexibly.
He emphasized that the Navy’s advancement from river vessels to these newly constructed frigates is a source of pride, aligning with the motto "The strength of the navy lies in the warships." He expressed hope that the Navy would continue to enhance its reputation for many centuries to come.
Then, the Senior General left No 3 Naval Jetty for Ayeyawady Naval Command Headquarters by war vessel Yadanabon. On the way, Commander In Chief (Navy) presented 77th Anniversary Tatmadaw (Navy) day emblems and the scale models of war vessels commissioned into service to the Senior General.
Later, the Commander-In-Chief of Defense Services, along with the officials, visited the 77th Anniversary exhibition at the Ayeyarwady Naval Command Headquarters, where they signed the visitor’s book. They toured the exhibits, including the commemorative displays, souvenir shops, Myanmar traditional food stalls, bookshops, and military supply stores, and exchanged greetings with the officers, personnels, and their families.
