
A coordination meeting on the Rural Women Development Plan was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday.
Chairperson of Myanmar National Committee on Women, Union Minister for Women’s Affairs Dr. Thet Thet Zin attended the meeting and delivered opening remarks.
The Union Minister emphasized the importance of improving the lives of rural women through better education, healthcare, nutrition, environmental awareness, and income-generating activities.
She encouraged to ensure children attend school at least up to Grade-9 and called for efforts to reduce poverty through small-scale businesses and community development programs. She also highlighted the need for village-level women volunteers, local libraries, and long-term, sustainable development initiatives. Representatives from various women’s, social welfare, health, sports, and humanitarian organizations discussed their contributions to rural women’s development and future cooperation plans.
