Inspection Tour: MOALI Union Minister inspects rehabilitation measures

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is diligently working to replant various crops in flood-affected fields in Nay Pyi Taw and improve crop yields in unaffected areas.

On September 28th, Union Minister U Min Naung and concerned officials conducted field inspections of water pumping station, irrigation canals and crop fields in Shar Taw, Gwe Pin, and Ye Aye as part of these efforts. The Union Minister and party commenced their visit at Shar Taw Village, observing farmers engaged in harvesting pepper. There, he inquired about agricultural productivity and farmers' income, offering encouragement. They then inspected damage status of solar-powered water pumping station.

During their inspection, the Union Minister stressed the importance of weekly water supply management. He also instructed the systematic silt recovery along the irrigation channels and urged collective efforts among farmers to improve drainage works and better irrigation flow for plantations.

Next, the Union Minister and party visited crop fields in Shar Taw, Gwe Pin, and Ye Aye villages, where they met with officials to monitor the status of replanted monsoon rice plantations in flood-hit areas. They also discussed facilitating the planting of alternative crops in regions where monsoon paddy cannot thrive. The Union Minister highlighted the need to systematically manage Nay Pyi Taw's annual production capacity to boost crop yields in unaffected areas.
