











With the Kachin State Government making concerted efforts to fully meet its targets for the 2026 monsoon season tree-planting festivals, the 2026 collective monsoon season tree-planting ceremony of the Ministry of Sports Affairs and the Kachin State Sports and Physical Education Department was held at 8:00 AM on Tuesday inside the Nyein Chan Thar Yar Public Sports Ground.
The monsoon season tree-planting ceremony was attended by members of the state government led by State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan. Together with officers and staff from the State Sports and Physical Education Department, as well as sports teams such as Judo and Basketball that are currently undergoing camp training under various sports subcommittees, they collectively planted a total of 110 saplings, including valuable teak trees, in front of the Judo Gymnasium inside the sports complex. Following the planting, the Chief Minister warmly greeted and encouraged the participating athletes.
Subsequently, at the Malika Hall of the State Government Office, the State Chief Minister held a coordination meeting with the state government and members of the local committee to ensure the swift and successful implementation of public awareness campaigns to be carried out by the Department of Information and Public Relations regarding the Ayeyawady Myitsone-Upstream River Basin Hydropower Project. During the meeting, the State Chief Minister delivered an opening speech regarding the project.
Similarly, Monday afternoon, the State Chief Minister and his wife, along with state government ministers, their wives, and responsible officials, attended the final match and award ceremony of the State Chief Minister’s Cup U-19 Inter-Club Women’s Football Tournament held at the State Football Ground. At the award ceremony, the Chief Minister’s wife presented individual medals and cash prizes to the first-prize-winning team, while the State Chief Minister awarded them the first-place championship trophy, it’s reported.
