Receiving UNFPA Resident Rep.: Rakhine State CM received UNFPA Resident Representative

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Naing Oo, along with members of the State Government, received Mr. Jaime Nadal Roig, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and his delegation at the Chief Minister’s Guest hall of the Rakhine State Government Office Tuesday morning.

During the meeting, they held a cordial and open discussion regarding current implementations in Rakhine State, which are being carried out in accordance with the directives of the Rakhine State Government and the Rakhine State Health Department. These initiatives include partnering with Relief International (RI) and the Myanmar Medical Association to operate mobile clinics, provide maternal and reproductive healthcare services, supply emergency medical cost assistance, and distribute clean delivery kits to newborn mothers at temporary displacement camps and IDP camps across Sittwe. They also discussed project activities aimed at upgrading the lives of women, conducted in cooperation with partner organizations, such as providing women's empowerment awareness and distributing personal hygiene items for women at temporary displacement camps.

On the evening of July 6, the Rakhine State Chief Minister attended and delivered an address at the 2nd Coordination Meeting of the Rakhine State Regional Tourism Committee, held at the meeting hall of the State Government Office.

Next, the Vice Chairman of the Rakhine State Regional Tourism Committee and State Minister for Planning, Economy, and Finance, U Aung Kyaw Moe, briefed the meeting on the development of regional tourism in Rakhine State. Subsequently, Committee Secretary presented the submissions regarding business license applications for respective service sectors.

Afterward, the attending committee members actively discussed and offered suggestions for the systematic and sustainable development of the hotel and tourism sector within the state. The State Chief Minister then reviewed the discussions and delivered the closing remarks, it’s reported.
