









Hailing the 78th Anniversary Armed Forces day, the opening ceremony of small scale industrial products show, competition, discussion and market fair was held on the Tabaung ground at the Upatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw Pobbathiri Township on 17th March with the attendance of the Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development, Union Minister for Industry, Chairman and members of Nay Pyi Taw Council,departmental heads and invited guests.
At the ceremony, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe said that the ceremony was held with the aims to encourage small scale industries, to establish a market, to learn more about small industrial products and packaging by entrepreneurs and to emerge the small scale industries based on the local products on a manageable scale.
The exhibition will help development of small scale industries as the competitions regarding the Lacquer, weaving, foodstuffs and consumer goods will be held and prizes will be awarded to winners.
Later, Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than said that the Ministry is working to innovate and competitive for micro, small and medium enterprises to get the business network, to increase employment opportunities for the people and socio-economic development. MSME entrepreneurs will enrich economic knowledge and become more professional in managing their businesses by participating in fairs, exhibitions and competitions.
Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council U Tin Oo Lwin also said that plans are underway to carry out the development of small scale industries in the Union territory,access to the market, to provide necessary technical support and the use of modern equipment with cooperation and coordination as per sector.
Later, officials formally opened the ceremony and Union Ministers and invited guests viewed around the shops at the exhibition.
At the exhibition and market fair, 49 booths for small scale industrial products such as consumer goods, weaving, foodstuffs and lacquer from regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw and 17 booths for packaging equipment, for a total of 66 booths will be on display from March 17th to March 19th and anyone can visit and study there with free of charge.
Later, Union Minister U Hla Moe and party attended the paper reading session about onion based value-added consumer manufacturing technology, packaging, market penetration, production of value-added natural dried fruit using vacuum freeze dryer, research of herbal cosmetic products from the avocado oil extract, research about Myanma resin and the production of food products from soybeans.
