




The Cyber Security Law briefing and awarding ceremony for the Cyber Security Awareness Video Competition (University Level) was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.
Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya TunOo made an opening speech at the event. In his speech, he expressed the pros, cons and challenges of using the Information technology around the world.
The telecommunication law was enactment in 2013 in Myanmar and people’s daily socio-economic lives have been depending on the use of information technology due to the wider implementation of online services and e-Government systems.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications released the cyber security law in March 2023 with the approval of Union-Level government to solve the challenges, he added. This briefing focused on 7 objectives and 5 points of the cyber security law in details which is based on the basic facts of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and current situations in Myanmar to build the secured, stable and robust cyberspace.
Next, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister presented awards to winners of the Cyber Security Awareness Video Competition (University Level). Then, Director from the Department of Information technology and Cyber security explained matters regarding the cyber security law and answered the questions raised by the governmental Chief Information Officers (CIO).
