Open Football Tournament : MGY Region CM awarded championship shield

The final match and award ceremony of the 2026 "Yenanmyay Thakhin Phoe Hla Gyi Shield" Invitational Open Football Tournament, organized under the supervision of the Magway Region Government, in collaboration with the Magway Region Department of Sports and Physical Education and the Magway Region Football Federation, was held at the Magway Region Sports Ground on August 14.

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko attended the event and presented the awards.

First, the Chief Minister and officials watched the final match between Mingalar Par (Pyay FC) and Kathit Myay (Myothit FC). Kathit Myay (Myothit FC) won the final with a score of 2 goals to 1.

At the award ceremony, regional ministers presented trophies and cash prizes to the winners of the Best Goalkeeper Award, Best Defender Award, Best Midfielder Award, Best Forward Award, and Best Player Award respectively.

Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko presented individual medals, a cash prize of 20 million kyats, and the Thakhin Phoe Hla Gyi Championship Shield to the first-place team, Kathit Myay (Myothit FC). Magway Region Hluttaw Speaker Dr. Maung Maung Htay presented individual medals and a cash prize of 10 million kyats to the second-place team, Mingalar Par (Pyay FC), it’s reported.
