







The International Conference on Intellectual Property - 2025 took place in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday, with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
After formally opened the conference, artistes from Fine Arts Department under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture entertained with cultural dance.
Then, the Prime Minister delivered opening remarks, underscoring the importance of strong intellectual property (IP) system in development of industrial and foreign investment sector which are crucial for building a modern developed nation. Myanmar's IP system aims to foster creativity, innovation, and economic growth by protecting the rights of creators and inventors.
In order to enhance the innovativity and creativity, it’s necessary to create an environment which will link universities, research departments and MSME entrepreneurs together. With the support of MSME entrepreneurs, the inventions and creations developed by universities and research departments can be placed into market. As the IP system grants creators exclusive rights over their creations, it’s essential to promote the role of IP system in MSME sector. He added taht the conference will benefit to entrepreneurs and youths for their better understanding about IP system, to obtain significant achievements in the copyright field.
The Prime Minister urged all to use the experiences and studies developed by the conference as a drive force in building a healthy and thriving economic ecosystem. He also called for the relevant ministries, organizations and experts to fulfill their respective roles in an effort for the development of Myanmar’s IP System.
Next, the International Conference on Intellectual Property-2025 documentary video was screened. After a documentary photo session, the Prime Minister and party made a tour to commemorative exhibitions. Speakers and experts from home and abroad are actively participating in relevant discussions during the 2-day conference.
