Leader of the Information Team of the State Administration Council Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun made clarification on recent reports regarding the Manipur area in India and Myanmar's border, as well as the Kabaw Valley.

The Hindu Times published a report stating that a Member of Parliament (MP) from Mizoram visited the northwest region of Myanmar, adjacent to India. According to the report, this trip was communicated to both the Administrator of Mizoram and the Border Guard.

During his visit, the MP reportedly met with members of the CNF/CNA Chin PDF groups. Regarding the Kabaw Valley in Tamu, the MP from Manipur raised the issue in the Upper House, stating that the valley is an integral part of India, based on historical facts. Additionally, the Chief Minister of Mizoram raised concerns in the Mizoram Parliament about foreigners entering Myanmar via Mizoram.

The Times of India reported that from June to December last year, over 2,000 foreigners visited Aizawl, a border town in Mizoram, and subsequently trespassed into Myanmar, reportedly interfering with Myanmar's internal affairs.

Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun emphasized that Myanmar and India are longstanding and cooperative neighbors, working together under India’s Act East Policy. He reaffirmed that Myanmar does not support any group opposed to the country using Indian territory as a base, nor does it accept such groups using Myanmar's land to operate against India.

The two countries have made significant strides in bilateral cooperation to ensure the security of their border regions. He also highlighted that Myanmar is fully committed to abiding by the Five Principles of Peaceful Co-Existence.

Regarding the Kabaw Valley, he clarified that the border demarcation process has already been completed, and a bilateral cooperation agreement on the border area between Myanmar and India was signed on 8th May 2014. He pledged that Myanmar will continue stands as a good neighbour, and will delegate the necessary tasks to address the issue.
