Centenary Graduation Ceremony: MoALI UM awarded the prizes to the outstanding students

The centenary graduation ceremony of the Agricultural University was held at the convocation hall of the University in Zayyathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 12th of May and was attended Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, deputy Ministers, permanent secretary and Directors General, Rector, professors, lecturers, faculty members, graduates and their parents and relatives.

In his graduation speech, Union Minister said that it’s noted that the 32nd graduation ceremony of the Yayzin Agricultural University is held as the graduation ceremony marked the Hundredth Anniversary of the University. This is a day of significant and honor for a graduate who studied for five years, for the parents who supported and for the teachers who taught.

According to the statistics, parents of the 50% of students are the farmers and just one percent of students who passed the matriculation examination have a permission to join this university. It sheds lights on the requirements to turn out more human resources of agricultural graduates for the country based on the agriculture etc.

Next, the Union Minister awarded the first, second and third prizes to the winners from first year to the final year.

At the second part of the graduation ceremony, the Rector of the Yayzin Agriculture University conferred the degrees of doctorate, Master of Agricultural Science, Master of Agricultural Philosophy, Agricultural Post Graduate and Diploma.

At the graduation ceremony marked the Hundredth Anniversary of Yayzin Agricultural University, Bachelor degree of Agricultural Science to 212 candidates, doctorate degree to 5 candidates, Master of Agricultural Science to 27 candidates, Master of Agricultural Philosophy to 2 candidates, Agricultural post graduate degree to 4 candidates.

During the hundred year of the university, 13197 Bachelor degree holders, 79 doctorate degree holders, 6 doctorate degree holders based on agricultural research, 671 M.Sc. degree holders, 11 M.Phil. holders, 43 post graduate Agricultural diploma holders, Rice specialized post graduate Agricultural diploma holders, 565 Agricultural Economics diploma (Israel+YAU) have been turned out, it’s learnt.
