The Bago Region pavilion achieved significant international recognition at the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO 2026), capturing both the Best Exhibition Organizer award and the Best National Pavilion award.

The five-day event, held from September 17 to 21, in Nanning of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, featured Bago City as the designated "City of Charm" representing Myanmar. The dual accolades highlight the region's successful push to elevate its cultural heritage and economic potential on the global stage.

A central highlight of the pavilion was its vibrant cultural presentation. Performers from the Bago Region delivered a series of traditional dances that drew substantial crowds, including Pyu Cultural Dances, honoring the ancient historical roots of the region, Thingyan Water Festival and Thanaka Dances, showcasing Myanmar's iconic New Year celebrations and traditional cosmetic rituals, as well as the basic Myanmar traditional dance.

Beyond cultural diplomacy, the pavilion served as a major commercial hub. Out of 81 total booths representing Myanmar, the Bago Region managed 10 dedicated local exhibition booths, while supporting 71 others from various states and regions across the country.

The exhibition focused on expanding international market access for Bago’s agricultural sector and value-added goods. Regional officials utilized the platform to engage with foreign investors, aiming to drive sustainable economic growth, boost local manufacturing, and position Bago as a destination for regional tourism.
