Repairing Works: Measures to mitigate road erosion

Due to the flash flood of mountain torrent in Kachin State, San Gaung and Nan Kan To diversion weirs, located in Partaik Creek near San Gaung Village were damaged, causing erosion along PutaO- Upper San Gaung- Ziyardam  road (the road leading to snow-capped mountain).

On Sunday, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htain Nan met with departmental personnel, local farmers and townelders to discuss on the status of damaged diversion weirs and road, repair works, and plans to control water way and water flow.

They also discussed arrangements to construct a retaining wall between mile posts 6/4 and 6/6 on Putao-Upper San Gaung road during three fiscal years. The Chief Minister and party later inspected condition of the diversion weirs and temporary control measures for road erosion.
