







The 76th Anniversary Martyrs’ Day for 2023 was observed at the Martyrs’ Mausoleum in Yangon on Wednesday. Member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San and party cordially greeted the family members of martyrs and guests.
After that, SAC Member Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister Admiral Tin Aung San, SAC members Mahn Nyein Maung, Dr Hmu Htan, Union Chief Justice U Tun Tun Oo, Chairman of the Central Committee for Organizing the 76th Martyrs’ Day Ceremony Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko and Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye laid wreaths of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the mausoleum and pay tribute to late General Aung San and martyrs.
Union Ministers, the Vice Chairman of the Central Committee Yangon Region Chief Minister, senior military officers from the Commander-in-Chief Office, Yangon Command Commander, deputy Ministers and attendees also paid tribute to fallen leaders.
Meanwhile, the Flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was lowered to half-mast. The Guard of Honour presented arms and the military bugle sounded the last post, and then they observed a two-minute silence in remembrance of fallen martyrs leaders.
And then, U Aung San U, the elder son of General Aung San and families of the martyrs and representatives laid wreaths at the mausoleum and paid their tribute and shared merits. Representatives from the Yangon Region government, those from political parties, heads of foreign missions to Myanmar and Charges d’ Affaires of foreign embassies laid wreaths in front of the monument.
Representatives from various organizations and associations laid wreaths to pay tribute at the mausoleum of General Aung San and fallen leaders. Likewise, people also paid tribute to the martyrs at the mausoleum in line with the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic released by the Ministry of Health. The 76th Anniversary Martyrs’ Day was held in accord with the orders and directives issued by the Ministry of Health.
