Tour in Keng Tung : Acting President visit Keng Tung

Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited Buddha Park in Keng Tung on Sunday, and inspected the construction site of Lawka Tharaphu Pagoda.

The Acting President received the guidance from the Wazipeik Sayadawgyi and also made supplementation. He also instructed officials to ensure systematic works with resistance to the climatic condition and disasters. The Acting President later inspected the progress of construction works.

They then viewed the construction of religious buildings, paying homage to the four significant sites of Buddhology. The Acting President and party also paid homage to the Thata Thataha Maha Bodhi Pagoda and offered fruits, water, flower and light to the Buddha Image.

They made cash donation for all-round renovation of the pagoda. The Acting President and party later paid homage to the Buddha Image at the upper terrace of the pagoda, followed by striking of the the Peace Bell. They then oversaw the Thila Dhamma Charity Clinic and construction of Thila Dhamma Hospital.

The Acting President and party later took a tour of Buddha Park, including the flower plantation and museum. At Ahbaya Laba Muni Buddha Image, the Acting President and party offered flower, water and light, and toured the pagoda cave. The Acting President also made cash donation for all-round renovation of the pagoda.

At night, the Acting President and party visited Maha Myat Muni Pagoda and offered fruits, water, flower and light to the Buddha Image. The Acting President also donated cash for all-round renovation. They then attended the 42nd anniversary Lahu New Year Festival at the State Ground. They viewed the sales of traditional foods, clothes and utensils, cordially greeting the visitors, Lahu ethnic people and local ethnic community.
