






Delegations from Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam arrived in Nay Pyi Taw on September 12th to attend the 20th ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference (20th AACC).
They were welcomed at Nay Pyi Taw Airport by senior officers from Tatmadaw (Air) and officials. In the evening, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung held separate meetings with the delegations to discuss matters related to friendly cooperation among the ASEAN Air Forces. On the 13th, the 20th AACC took place at Myanmar International Convention Center I.
The conference began with a video clip showcasing the successive meetings of AACC, followed by an opening speech by General Tun Aung. The ASEAN Air Chiefs then discussed the conference theme, "ASEAN Air Forces’ Cooperation for a Sustainable Environment." Air Chiefs from the Philippines and Singapore participated in the meeting via video message.
They engaged in a cordial discussion on specific topics and sought approval for the meeting minutes of the 20th AACC. Meeting Chair General Tun Aung later delivered a concluding speech before handing over the Chairmanship to Cambodian Air Chief Gen. Soeung Samnang.
Then, a ceremony was held to sign the agreements reached during the 20th AACC. In the evening, a dinner reception in honor of the attendees of the 20th AACC took place at MICC-1.
General Tun Aung extended greetings and enjoyed the performances while having dinner with the attendees. As a sideline event of the 20th AACC, the 10th ASEAN Air Forces Education and Training – Working Group Meeting (10th AAFET – WG) was held from August 7th to 9th via video conferencing. Representatives from the 10 ASEAN member states discussed the topic of "Advancing Education and Training Exchanges for a Sustainable Environment Amongst ASEAN Air Forces."
Myanmar had previously hosted the 11th AACC in 2014, and this marked the second time hosting the AACC meeting. In the evening of September 12th, the delegations visited the Maravijaya Buddha Park and offered flowers, water, and light to the Buddha Image.
On the morning of September 13th, the wife of the Commander in Chief (Air) and the wives of the ASEAN Air Chiefs and delegation members visited the Maravijaya Buddha Park again and made cash donations.
Later, they visited the Gem Museum, where officials guided them. In the afternoon, they enjoyed a display of traditional culture and domestic handicrafts showcased by the Air Force Headquarters and respective air bases.
