Field Inspection Tour : MOALI UM conducted field inspection tour in Kalaw

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung arrived at the Agriculture and Livestock Science Institute (Heho) in Kalaw Township, Shan State (South), on 17 August and met with departmental officials, principals, and teachers to discuss matters related to teaching and learning.

First, at the Thamuha  Hall, the Union Minister met with principals and teachers from the Agriculture and Livestock Science Institutes in Heho and Deemawso and delivered remarks. He discussed the ongoing preparations to upgrade the Agriculture and Livestock Science Institute to college level and stressed the need for teachers to continuously study and keep abreast of new and modern technologies.

The Union Minister then coordinated and addressed the matters raised by the teachers. He also inspected the classrooms, teachers' dormitories, student dormitories, dining hall, livestock practical training facilities, and practical cultivation fields.

Afterwards, the Union Minister met with students from the Agriculture and Livestock Science Institutes in Heho and Deemawso and delivered words of encouragement.

In the evening, Union Minister, accompanied by Shan State Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Lin Aung Swe, visited the Heho Farm of the Department of Agriculture. They inspected the production and distribution of high-quality, high-yield coffee and strawberry seeds, as well as potatoes, sunflower, onions, garlic and vegetable seeds. They also inspected the experimental propagation and cultivation of seed potatoes imported from Russia and Belarus.

They subsequently inspected the mulberry plantation, including the growth of mulberry plants and preparatory activities for silkworm breeding, and gave instructions to officials on matters related to the work, it is reported.
