Typhoon Champi has prompted extensive emergency preparations and coastal shutdowns across eastern China as it barrels toward the region. Authorities in coastal provinces like Fujian have initiated emergency plans to evacuate vulnerable populations.

In Zhejiang province, at least 36 passenger ferry routes were suspended and ordered a halt on 223 marine construction projects. Local weather agencies warned that mountainous and coastal areas could experience cumulative rainfall scaling up to 900 mm, significantly raising the risk of flash flooding and mudslides.
