






Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Than Maung attended a ceremony to provide funds to ethnic literature and culture organizations in southern Shan State, held in Taunggyi on Wednesday. In his opening remarks, the Union Minister stated that 45 million kyats allocated by the Shan State Government would be provided to 11 ethnic literature and cultural associations in southern Shan State to support ethnic affairs activitiesincluding the development of ethnic literature, the procurement and collection of traditional musical instruments and utensils, and the conducting of traditional tailoring courses.
He urged the organizations to use the funds effectively on ethnic affairs matters that bring real benefits to ethnic peoples. He also noted that by coordinating with the Department of Ethnic Literature and Culture on upcoming activities related to ethnic affairs, necessary support could be provided more effectively.
Following this, Shan State Chief Minister U Sai Htein Soe delivered remarks. Afterward, the Union Minister, the Chief Minister, and members of the state government presented the funds, and a representative on behalf of the ethnic literature and culture associations delivered a speech of thanks.
