








Kayin State team emerged championship at the 2026 Region and State U-19 Women's Football Tournament, after defeating the Ayeyawady Region team at the final on Wednesday. Kayin State took the lead in the 12th minute following an own goal by an Ayeyawady defender.
No. 7 Naw Kaw Ka Pru Sei scored the second goal in the 31st minute, while No. 18 Nan Moe Pwint Aye Cho added the third in the 38th minute. Neither side scored in the second half, giving Kayin State a 3–0 victory to claim the championship. During the prize awarding ceremony, officials presented trophies and cash rewards to the best goalkeeper, best defender, best middle player, best attacker, and the best player as well as the winning teams.
Shan State finished at fourth place, Mon State at third place and Ayeyawady Region at second place. The winning champion Kayin State received individual medals and 10 million kyat cash rewards. The Ministry of Sports Affairs, in cooperation with regional and state governments and the Myanmar Football Federation, organized the 2026 Regional and State U-19 Women’s Football Tournament from September 16 to 30.
The tournament aimed to improve the standard of Myanmar women’s football, develop young female players, and promote sports development across the regions and states. The group-stage matches were held in four zones in Hpa-An, Taunggyi, Bago and Pathein. The knockout and final matches were played at Thuwunna, Padetha, Thanlyin and Padoma stadiums in Yangon. A total of 14 women’s teams and 334 participants from regions and states took part in the 15-day tournament.
