Peace Process: NSPNC meets with NCA-S EAOs in Yangon

The second-day meeting of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and the Negotiation Team of the NCA-Signatory Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) was held in Yangon on Wednesday.

During the meeting, a framework for reconnecting the diverse stakeholders involved in the peace process was discussed. Discussions focused on implementing the peace process based on the essence of the NCA, defining the diverse objectives and aspirations of EAOs as a Common Political Framework, establishing national reconsolidation through the peace process, encouraging the participation of local residents, social organizations, youth, and women in the peace process, and building trust among the various stakeholders.

The meeting resulted in agreements on the dialogue format between the NSPNC and NCA-S EAOs, the formation of committees for regional peace and development, cooperation by NCA-S EAOs in organizing seminars and forums in regions and states, the participation of all EAOs in the peace process, and the provision of humanitarian assistance. The attendees signed the outcomes of the meeting, followed by concluding remarks from Sao Sai Ngin, Secretary (1) of the RCSS and Leader of the NCA-S EAOs, and Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Chairman of the NSPNC.
