Russia’s FM says ready to help on Strait of Hormuz

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced on Saturday at the United Nations General Assembly that Moscow is ready to help stabilize the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and the wider Gulf region. Lavrov stated that building trust between Gulf states, Arab nations, and Iran is essential for a stable regional architecture, and affirmed that Russia stands ready to constructively contribute.

The announcement follows a meeting in New York between Lavrov and Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, where both officials emphasized that only a diplomatic resolution can address ongoing regional tensions.
