15th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice kicks off in Abu Dhabi

The 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice opened in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. Running from September 26 to October 1, attendees include representatives from over 97 countries, including more than 32 ministers of justice and interior ministers, as well as experts, youth, and civil society members.

Adopted by acclamation at the opening of the Congress, Abu Dhabi Declaration serves as the core strategic document guiding international cooperation and priorities on crime prevention and the rule of law through 2031. Discussions focus on emerging criminal trends in the digital age, such as crime as a service, violence as a service, cybercrime, and online fraud.
