Preserving Heritage : Myanmar Traditional Marionette Making Training Course

The Myanmar Traditional Marionette Making Training Course was conducted at the State High School of Arts (Yangon) on Sunday.

Union Minister for Hotels, Tourism and Culture U Maung Myint attended the opening ceremony of the training course, jointly organized by the Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Culture and Myanmar Cultural Heritage Trust, and delivered the opening speech.

The Chairperson of Myanmar Cultural Heritage Trust explained the purpose of the training course.  Afterwards, the Union Minister and officials presented certificates of honor to the sponsors for the training course, followed by the Marionette Show.

Later, the Union Minister and party observed the students learning the Myanmar Traditional Marionette Making process. The course, lasting 12 months, will provide hands-on training in traditional marionette creation, performance techniques, and practical fieldwork. Graduates will receive certificates from MCHT and opportunities to connect with artists in the marionette industry.
