To prevent irregularities in transportation, all fuel tankers are now equipped with GPS devices. These are connected to an online monitoring platform, enabling officials to track deliveries in real time and ensure they reach their intended destinations.
Than Tun Oo,Chief Inspector,Petroleum Products Regulatory Department said " To prevent malpractice and avoid unnecessary issues during the transportation of approved fuel, monitoring systems are in place to verify whether fuel tankers reach their designated destinations and whether they follow the correct routes. This is done through an online Web Application Software system, inclusion of tanker and fuel station data in the system, installation of GPS devices on all fuel tankers, connected to the PPRD platform, and real-time monitoring from the headquarters’ Online Monitoring Center."
