







The opening ceremony of the water-play pavilion for Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival, organized in accordance with Myanmar traditions by the families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services (Army, Navy, Air), was held on the evening of April 13 at the parade ground in Zeyathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, General Ye Win Oo, and his wife, Daw Nila; the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and Commander-in-Chief (Army), General Kyaw Swar Lin, and his wife, Daw Nan Kuu Ku, Union-level dignitaries and their wives, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, officers, other ranks, family members; artists; Yein dance troupes and invited guests.
First, the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and party arrived at the parade ground in Zeyathiri where the ceremony was to be held. Senior military officers and family members welcomed them by presenting jasmine garlands and sprinkling New Year Thingyan water.
Afterward, the opening ceremony took place. Senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief cut the ribbon to officially open the water-play pavilion for the families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services (Army, Navy, Air Force) for Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival.
Subsequently, artists performed the song "Hnit Thit Mingalar", accompanied by young female Yein dance troupe members. The Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and party then used eugenia branches to sprinkle Thingyan water on the Yein dance troupes and the audience.
Following this, those attending the ceremony were offered satuditha charity foods. Along with the Myawaddy Music Band, famous artists and Yein dance troupes performed songs and elegant Yein dances.
The senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) opened, respectively, the Sein Pan Water-Play Pavilion near the married officers' quarters within the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) compound, the Magyi-yeik Water-Play Pavilion, and the Nay Pyi Taw Region Command Water-Play Pavilion, and joyfully participated in the New Year water festival.
These water-play pavilions will be vibrantly and joyfully open from Maha Thingyan Eve to Thingyan Ascent Day. Thingyan Yein dance troupes and vocalists will perform elegant Yein dances and songs, it’s reported.
