Yangon Region Hluttaw Session: Hlutaw approved appointment of Region CM

The second day of the first regular session of the third Yangon Region Hluttaw was held on Aprial-6 at 10:00 AM in the meeting hall of the Yangon Region Hluttaw. Of the 123 Hluttaw representatives, 122 attended the session.

During the session, the Hluttaw approved and confirmed U Aung Naing Thu from the Coco Island Township constituency as the Chief Minister of Yangon Region. The Hluttaw also agreed to establish ten regional ministries including the Ministry of Security and Border Affairs; the Ministry of Planning, Economy and Finance; the Ministry of Social Affairs; the Ministry of Electricity, Energy, Industry and Transport; the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation; the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation; the Ministry of Development Affairs; the Ministry of Information, Relief and Religious Affairs; the Ministry of Kayin Ethnic Affairs; and the Ministry of Rakhine Ethnic Affairs. The Hluttaw further approved the appointment of ten region ministers and the establishment of six judges for the Region High Court. The session was adjourned at 10:48 AM, it’s reported.
