On the Yangon circular line, new train sets with additional carriages have been introduced to make travel easier for passengers. On the Yangon–Mandalay and Yangon–Mawlamyine routes, special cargo trains can now carry over 200 tons per trip, stopping at major stations along the routes.
Cargo services started on April 4. The ministry emphasized that this expansion aims to reduce high transportation costs, facilitate faster and easier goods movement, and lower fuel consumption by prioritizing railway transport.
