New Facility: Chemical Management Center opens in Yangon

A new Chemical Management Center was opened in Insein Township of Yangon on Saturday.

The opening ceremony was held at the Department of Pharmaceutical Research compound and attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and Deputy Minister for Industry U Thwin Aung. They inaugurated the center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and later toured the facility, including chemical and microbiology laboratories.

The center, established under the Ministry of Industry, aims to systematically manage and regulate chemical substances to protect public health and the environment. It will also oversee chemical-related businesses, enforce safety regulations, and ensure proper waste management to reduce environmental pollution. The center is expected to become a leading national hub for chemical management and safety.
