The government has introduced an upgraded Bar Code/QR Code system for fuel purchases starting March 27, 2026, in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, and Taunggyi to make buying fuel easier. The system will be expanded to other cities. A Call Center is now open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM to help the public with any fuel-related difficulties.

People can report issues such as overpricing, selling less than the set amount, refusing to sell despite having stock, not scanning Bar Code/QR Code and illegal fuel sales. Complaints can be made via phone or by sending evidence such as photos/videos through Viber number.

Authorities have already taken action against violations. One fuel station in Mandalay Region had its license temporarily suspended, and around 30 stations have received final warnings. Strict action will be taken against further violations.
