A total of 18 armed group members, including 8 from PDF and 10 from AA, entered the legal fold together with their weapons and ammunition.

They were welcomed by authorities at a ceremony held in the Ayeyawady Region on Thursday. Afterward, they were returned to their parents or guardians. The individuals handed over several weapons, including rifles, a pistol, ammunition, and a grenade.

Authorities provided cash rewards for the surrendered weapons and also gave cash assistance to the individuals. These armed group members decided to return because they no longer accepted violence, difficult living conditions, and internal issues within armed groups. They now want to live peacefully and contribute positively to society. The government will continue to accept and support others who wish to return, and encouraged them to contact nearby administrative offices or security forces.
