Coordination Meeting: Chin State CM delivered the opening address

A Coordination Meeting for the successful holding of the 2026 Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival was held on March 26th at the meeting hall of the Chin State Government Office in Hakha.

Chief Minister Dr. Wong Hsum Htan attended the meeting and delivered the opening address. First, the Patron for the successful holding of the 2026 Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival, Chief Minister Dr. Wong Hsum Htan, provided guidance in his opening address.

He stated that this year's Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival should be held in a manner compatible with fuel conservation. Noting that last year's festival was held differently due to the Mandalay earthquake, he said that this year's event should be celebrated joyfully together with the government, Hluttaw, and the public.

He emphasized that since the Maha Thingyan Festival is a Myanmar traditional festival, it should be celebrated with propriety in accordance with Myanmar culture. He also stressed the need to ensure that the public is widely informed about the preparations made for holding the Maha Thingyan Festival.

Afterwards, the Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Successful Holding of the Festival, State Minister for Security and Border Affairs Colonel Khin Maung Htwe, clarified and discussed matters related to successfully organizing the Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival in accordance with Myanmar cultural traditions.

Subsequently, representatives from various working committees and state-level departmental officials presented, according to their respective committees, the actions taken during the previous year's Maha Thingyan Festival, completed, ongoing, and planned activities for this year, as well as estimated expenditures for their respective committees. The State Chief Minister coordinated necessary matters based on the presentations and delivered the concluding address.
