It is reported that the 2026 Naypyidaw Walking Thingyan Festival will be held vibrantly and grandly at Naypyidaw Square.

This year's Walking Thingyan Festival is set to be held magnificently at Naypyidaw Square as the first state-level ceremony under the new government. This year's festival is more than just a celebration; it is also a significant event where the government, parliament representatives, civil servants, and the public will come together to celebrate with new spirit and a new political landscape.

The Walking Thingyan Festival will feature designated zones, including Thingyan pavilion (Mandat) zone, entertainment zones, thanakha Thingyan zones, as well as exhibitions showcasing traditional hospitality with Laphet (pickled tea leaf) and Htamane (traditional glutinous rice delicacy) making, all arranged by zone to be displayed magnificently.

In addition to performances by famous vocalists, the program will include many other excellent acts that highlight the traditional Thingyan Festival. It is also stated that various ministries and organizations will participate in this Walking Thingyan event. Furthermore, similar Walking Thingyan festivals will be held across the country. For the inclusion of performances by famous vocalists in Naypyidaw and nationwide, special train tickets will be arranged to facilitate the travel of these artists.
