Coordination Meeting: Walking Thingyan to be held in Yangon

A coordination meeting to ensure the successful holding of the Walking Thingyan event for the 1387 Myanmar Era 2026 Traditional Culture Maha Thingyan Festival in Yangon Region was held on March 23 at the Mingala Hall of the Yangon Region Government Office.

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein attended and delivered the opening speech. Subsequently, the Chairman of the Steering Committee for Organizing the Walking Thingyan, Yangon Region Minister for Development Affairs, U Bo Htay, clarified the work progress. Following that, the Secretary of the Organizing Committee and responsible officials from various sub-committees presented their respective work progress.

Afterward, departmental pavilion supervisors and the Chairmen of the District Administration and Management Committees presented the tasks they will undertake. Following this, attendees made presentations on the planned tasks by sector. The Patron of the Steering Committee for Organizing the Walking Thingyan Yangon Region Chief Minister, U Soe Thein, then coordinated on necessary matters and delivered the concluding remarks, it’s reported.
