Mon State Day: Celebration held in Mawlamyine

A ceremony for 52nd Anniversary Mon State Day was held at Thameinbayen Comprehensive Stadium in Mawlamyine on Thursday, attended by State Security and Peace Commission Member General Maung Maung Aye.

According to the agenda, the attendees saluted the State Flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar as well as Fallen Martyrs and comrades altogether. General Maung Maung Aye later read out the commemorative messages sent by the Acting President, State Security and Peace Commission Chairman Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Then, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein extended greetings, and the ceremony came to a close. Subsequently, General Maung Maung Aye and party proceeded to the honorary awards presenting ceremony at the State Hall. Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein gave an honorary speech at the event.

Afterwards, General Maung Maung Aye and Commission Members handed out the honorary awards to the recipients in Administration, Economics, Agriculture, Livestock, Industrial, Hospitality and Social Affairs. After that, General Maung Maung Aye and party attended the opening ceremony of Ethnic Cultural Center in Min Ywa Village.

After formal opening ceremony, they toured ethnic traditional homes and Cultural Museum of the Center.At night, the General Maung Maung Aye and party attended a dinner reception held at Thameinbayen Comprehensive Stadium and enjoyed the performances of Mon traditional cultural troupes and later presented cash awards and souvenirs to the performers.
