





Yangon Regional Tourism Committee held its meeting at the Regional Government Office on March 18. Chief Minister U Soe Thein chaired the meeting and reviewed the status of foreign visitors, tourism activities, related businesses in 2025, and the region’s tourism development and workforce training plans for 2025–2026.
The budget and planned activities for the 2026–2027 fiscal year were also discussed. During the meeting, approvals were granted for 1 hotel construction, 1 guesthouse renovation, 7 hotel licenses, 1 guesthouse license, 79 hotel license renewals, 15 guesthouse renewals, 1 new guesthouse license, 1 renewal, 76 domestic/inbound tour licenses, 28 outbound tour licenses, 259 domestic/inbound tour license renewals, 146 outbound renewals, 229 tour guide license renewals, 16 new pilgrimage/tourism service licenses, and 16 renewals. The approved hotels and guesthouses are expected to bring over 29 billion kyat in investment and create 463 job opportunities.
