Foreign nationals involved in these operations are being systematically transferred to their respective countries.
In Kayin State, Myawaddy Township—specifically in Shwe Kokko, Mae Thaw Tha Lay, and KK Park areas—283 foreign nationals who committed online gambling and online fraud have been transferred to their respective countries on March 10.
Additionally, 357 foreign nationals have been further identified and detained for investigation. Initially, the Kayin State Government Security and Border Affairs Minister, Colonel Min Thu Kyaw, along with responsible officials, inspected and coordinated the smooth and systematic transfer process to ensure efficiency. Following this, a meeting was held, attended by Colonel Min Thu Kyaw and officials from the Kayin State Government, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Armed Forces General Ukrist Bhontanun and Thai officials, Indian Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Mr. Pranav Ganesh and his delegation, and officials from the Tak Province Immigration Office.
The meeting focused on accelerating joint efforts among Myanmar, Thailand, and China to combat online scams and online gambling, ensuring systematic procedures for the transfer and reception of individuals between origin, transit, and destination countries. Discussions also included forming a Task Force, drafting an Action Plan, and expediting the transfer of third-country nationals through Thailand to their respective countries. Subsequently, the transfer process was carried out, with Myanmar officials formally handing over the necessary documentation to the respective country officials. Similarly, 357 foreign nationals who illegally entered the Mae Thaw Tha Lay area via illegal routes were identified and detained on March 10.
Efforts are underway to collect necessary personal information and records to facilitate their swift repatriation, with relevant departments collaborating on the process.
