






The Maha Thingyan Festival marking the transition from Myanmar Year 1387 to 1388 was continued by the families of staff from the Ministry of Home Affairs in accordance with Myanmar traditional cultural heritage, starting from the afternoon of Thingyan Atat Day or Ascent Day of Myanmar Traditional New Year Maha Thingyan Festival on April 16, at the ministry's water-play pandal in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw.
The Ministry of Home Affairs Family water-play pandal was attended by the Union Minister for Home Affairs, Lt-Gen. Nyunt Win Swe, and his wife, Deputy Minister, Ma-J Gen Min Thu, and his wife, the Chief of Myanmar Police Force, Ma-J Gen Soe Hlaing, and his wife, the Permanent Secretary and his wife, Directors-General from various forces/departments and their wives, senior officers and their wives, force members and staff; family members; invited guests; and Yein dance troupes from various forces/departments.
They joyfully participated in the New Year Thingyan Festival in accordance with Myanmar traditional cultural heritage. Afterwards, at 6:30 PM, the closing ceremony of the Ministry of Home Affairs Family Maha Thingyan Festival was held at the ministry's water-play pandal.
At the ceremony, Union Minister Lt-Gen. Nyunt Win Swe delivered a closing speech, announced the conclusion of the Festival, and then the ministry's Thingyan Yein dance troupes collectively performed to the song "Mann Taung Yeik Kho or Resting in the Shadow of Mandalay Hill." The Union Minister and his wife and officials sprinkled Thingyan water using Eugenia branches. The closing ceremony was successfully concluded.
