New Year Good Deeds : Respect paying and fingerlings releasing

Tanintharyi Region Government organized a respect paying ceremony for the elderly aged 90 and above marking the transition to 1388 Myanmar New Year at Sasana Beikman Taw Gyi in Dawei Township on Friday.

Chief Minister U Zaw Naing Oo delivered the opening remarks and paid respect to the 35 elderly together with the attendees. Then, an elderly expressed words of appreciation. This was followed by the presenting of cash assistance and gifts to the elderly.

During the event, specialists from Dawei General Hospital provided health care services to the elderly. It’s learnt that cash assistance and gifts will be delivered to the elderly who couldn’t attend the ceremony.  Subsequently, fish releasing ceremony was held at Dawei Traditional Alms Bowl Drifting Ground on Strand Road. During the ceremony a total of 3,000 figerlings were released to Dawei River.
